Welcome to September’s issue

Many of you will remember that back in June 2012 we invited you to send in copies of your church magazine as part of our ‘Jubilee Hoard’.   More than 270 of you did so, and so the Jubilee Hoard became a unique collection of church magazines from all over the UK, acting as a sort of ‘snapshot’ of local church life in the month of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Our good news now is that we have found a home for the Jubilee Hoard!  Lambeth Palace Library in London has welcomed it and will keep it safe for future generations of social historians interested in local church life.  That is tremendously good news for us, and we want to thank you once again for your kindness in helping us to build the Parish Pump Jubilee Hoard.

Coming back to this month, we’ve got lots on offer, to make sure that you can complete your September magazine quickly and well , and return to your holidays!  Just some of our articles this month include:

Back to School
Why we are all like the Thai boys in the cave
What did we ever do before Google?
Surviving life in the trenches
Remembering the anniversary of Chamberlain’s ‘Peace for our time’
C of E’s support for Bill to allow mothers on marriage certificates

Finally, how do you like the new website?  We hope that you are settling in now, and finding your way about.  We would welcome your comments, for better or worse, so that we can make it as user-friendly as possible.

Hope you have a good summer break
