An Introduction
Why are we here?
We are here for one reason only - to help church magazine editors.
Your church's magazine has a vital role to play in the ministry of your local
church. You, as editor, reach more people each month than your minister.
Really? Yes, because a church magazine can bravely go where no minister has
gone before! It can slip into homes where a Christian would not be allowed
across the threshold. In many cases, entire communities receive them each
month. Your church magazine can be the ever-present silent witness to
Christ in your community. You want to make the most of it and we want to
help you, by providing resource material.
The world-wide Christian Church is a vast reservoir of spiritual refreshment,
of sparkling ideas and insights. With Parish Pump you can tap into it all, and
choose what you like.
We provide artistic and editorial material for your church magazine,
newsletter, pewsheet ..etc. Masses of it. Roughly 10,000 words a month, new
every month. It comes in snippets, broken down into bite-sized pieces designed
to drop straight into your existing publications.
You'll find illustrations, articles, news, cartoons, children's pages,
humour, quotes, book reviews, crossword puzzles and much, much more. We'll
provide you with more than enough material to ease the stress and frustration
of producing a magazine each month.

Who are we?
Parish Pump is an independent, registered limited company, owned and run by Anne Coomes. It launched in May 1999. The theological stance is: orthodox, historical, Bible-based Christianity. What CS Lewis called 'mere Christianity'.
Since reading Theology at The London School of Theology, Anne Coomes has worked in religious journalism, including a seven year stint as Diocesan Communications Officer for the Peterborough Diocese. She writes the occasional book for Monarch Publishing, and daily notes for the Bible Reading Fellowship. She also edits Samaritan's Purse's in-house magazine, going on annual Operation Christmas Child shoe box distributions to Eastern Europe or Africa. She is Reader for her parish near Alderley Edge in Cheshire. She has been editing church magazines off and on since 1980.
