Congratulations on this forum!

At last I can talk to other church magazine editors.... I hardly know where to begin.....

Well done, folks! Is this the first national church magazine editors’ forum? I don’t know of any others....

I’ve done a few training days with my diocese, and enjoyed comparing notes with the other editors - this will be brilliant. Thank you for giving us this opportunity :-)

I am just new to this game and am currently working on my third monthly magazine which has roughly 18 A4 size pages. Parish Pump is fantastic and I so enjoy using it. Thank you Parish Pump
Can't think of anyone better than Parish Pump to host a Church Magazine editor's forum!
April's edition will mark my 3rd anniversary in the role of Editor - now a forum to check things with other Editors - FAB. I shall enjoy chipping in and reading others views. Well done Parish Pump!!!
You can feel very alone as a magazine aditor. and it is refreshing to be able to share thoughts with other editors. Well done Parish Pump. Long may this continue.
The best just got even better. Thanks Anne and all at PP.
This forum is a great idea. I have been using Parish Pump for a few years now and couldn't manage without it. I am looking forward to hearing how others do things.
it is really good to be able to share views with other Magazine workers! I have been doing this for about 10 years - have lost count of how often parish Pump has come to the rescue with copy when we lost our 'muse'! Some sections we use each month, some only from time to time - but its all good
I have been editor for just over a year of our magazine. This site has been fantastic and now somewhere to chillax and put your feet up! Because we editors have lots of time for that don't we!
I too look forward to sharing new ideas. I have been our church magazine editor for 10 years but I also edit two more (for work and for 1000 soldiers worldwide) and have also been on courses, but there is nothing like first hand suggestions from one of us to the other. Thank you Parish Pump.
Thanks for setting up the forum - it is a great way to share thoughts, highs and lows etc. Tim
I also think that a forum for church magazine editors is an excellent idea. I have been editing our magazine for many years but it improved immensely once I started using material from 'Parish Pump'. Our magazine is an A5 booklet with, usually, about 32 pages (16 A4 I suppose). As we have friendly competition from another local news sheet, we are limited in what local 'news we can use (we try not to tread on each other's toes!). We are also a very small local community (some 600+ adults) and virtually no businesses in the parish (other than farmers). although we do post some magazines 'out of district'. We do, however, distribute approx. 300 copies, which isn't too bad for such a small community. I can understand editors feeling isolated on occasions, I often wonder whether people realise the time and effort put into producing a magazine. It will be good to hear of the experiences and problems of other editors around the country, and maybe pick up some useful ideas.
